new to sat

hey all im new to the sat scene but have been messing around on the cable scene a while so i know how to use the dm 500 for cable anyway i have a few questios for ye
what image do people recommend i see quite a lot for dm 500s looking for something straight forward to use,i here the nabilosat max var 8 and the pli image are good,im not bothered bout addons via the yellow button as i only have broadband through the o2 dongle so i will have to ftp the files over myself which i can get here :001_smile:,i was thinking the captains settings would also be handy,what keys bundles do people recommend and what cams/softcams do i need thanks

you have a range of images you can use.

I would recommend nabilo, EDG nemesis or a fast one like EagleV4.

Keys are posted here by some of the experts and are easily sent through ftp.

nabilo has been recommended ive never seen so many images for sat tbh,any softcams recomended i was thinking ccam and evocamd will that open most stuff with the right key bundles?

Hi mate cccam 2.0.10 is the best Emu around at this moment in time.

As for a Image i use the Eagle V4 image, it is fast as mentioned but a bigger attraction is in the well kept server available on the blue button. That server is a credit to that team.

sadly i wont be able to download via that server as i only have the o2 dongle so i cant connect the dm directly to internet which is a pain,this is the only form of broadband i have available to me which i live

We might start posting keys in tar.gz format, so they can be manually installed

Ok i think this could be set up with internet sharing as long as you can attach your DM to your PC with a crossover ethernet cable ICS should work.

If not then you can FTP most Emu's etc to the TMP folder and and install via pressing the blue button twice and Addons Manager then Manual.

Keys can be FTP'd over.

i have never tried to connect the dreambox to the internet that way will try it when the time comes and let ye know how it goes,thanks again

ok i flashed eagle v4 image to my dreambox but it keeps going around i a loop saying image loading but it never loads and then comes back round again and again?

dish set up data
elevation is : -7.5
azimuth (true) :268.6
azimuth (mag): 274.1
and lnb skew is: 37.7

im setting the motor up on the pole
and there is 2 scales on either side one is elevation and the other is lat
the minium setting for evelvation is 25 so i went off the side that had lat
and set it to 52.3 as close as i could is that correct yeah?

As for your image looping that has some how become corrupt and youl need to reflash the Eagle.

Which V4 version have you loaded? Base or a backup?

its f*cking frustrating setting upthe dish my arms were falling off trying to put it up have the dish up but have to set it up proper alignment and stuff,ill just reflash the box so mate,i just downloaded the 1 that wasnt the euro football 1

Thats the base image so you can build that yourself off the blue button server, we will talk you through it . Give us a shout.
