Had 3 TM5400s and ruined 2 by patching but did not bother patching the third, bought a spiderbox and found it so easy to use and patch by usb dongle. Col:Goodone:

daft question time folks but...............does this box (spiderbox 9000hd) have a normal tv out signal via a coaxial cable or is it just hdmi or scart..........the reason is i run an extended coaxial cable to a secondary tv from my present box

Not really, but the fist thing you should do is input your usuals. Only my opinion.

correct, to get the best out of the Spider, like most linux type stb's, you need an internet connection

Without an internet connection you won't receive the gift channels - it'll still work fine with patches, etc though. Just be aware patched channels are a dying breed - they're getting fewer all the time.

No one can give you the answer to that, packages may come and go but the packages on the Spider, Gift and CS net wise are not hacked and use a form of CS so the packages open are under the control of the box makers, this is why you need a internet connection to get the best from it.

Mate - it's sooo simple to setup and updates are a breeze. Just follow the guides here on Sat4fun and you can't go wrong.

And remember - if you get stuck with anything just ask. The people on here are very knowledgeable and helpful and you will always find someone with the answer to your query.
